Each threaded steam outlet from a power boiler, except to the water column, the fusible soft plug and the safety valve connections, must be fitted with a stop valve located as close as practicable to the boiler. Schedule 80 pipe must be used between the boiler and the first stop valve. If a globe valve is used, the inlet pressure must be under the disk of the valve.
