Section 61:08:05:16 - Computation of maximum allowable working pressure - Standard boilers

The maximum allowable working pressure for existing standard boilers shall be computed in accordance with the formulas in section I or IV of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, July 1, 2021, applicable at the time of construction.

For purposes of this section, the term, standard boiler, means a boiler or pressure vessel that bears the stamp of the state of South Dakota, another state that has adopted a standard of construction equivalent to that required by the department, the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, the National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors, or equivalent safe construction acceptable to the department.
