Section 46:11:12:08 - Extraordinary respite care funding

After the first six months of the state's fiscal year, additional respite care funding may be authorized for a family after the annual amount allotted to that family has been expended. If funding is available, a family may receive one additional allotment up to the original amount in the following situations:

(1) The primary caretaker is hospitalized;

(2) A natural disaster has occurred at or near the family's home;

(3) The eligible child or eligible adult has developed an unexpected illness or has been hospitalized; or

(4) The family will suffer a significant hardship that can be alleviated by respite care.
