Section 46:11:07:05 - Assistance with self-administration of medications

Assistance with self-administration of medications is the act of assisting a participant with one or more steps in the process of taking medications, but not actual administration of medications. Assistance with self-administration of medications may include the following:

(1) Opening the medication container;

(2) Reminding the participant of the proper time to take the medication;

(3) Helping to remove the medication from the container; and

(4) Returning the medication container to storage.
