Section 44:80:03:02 - General fire safety

Each facility shall be constructed, arranged, equipped, maintained, and operated to avoid undue danger to the lives and safety of its occupants from fire, smoke, fumes, or resulting panic during the period of time reasonably necessary for escape from the structure in case of fire or other emergency. The fire alarm system shall be sounded each month. At least two staff members shall be on duty at all times unless approved for a staffing exception. In a multilevel hospice, at least one staff member shall be on duty on each floor containing occupied beds.
