Each patient may be admitted only on the order of a physician. Prior to or upon admission of a patient, the attending physician shall provide the staff of the facility with documented information regarding current medical findings and with written orders for the immediate care of the individual.

A physician may not delegate a task when the regulations specify the physician shall perform it personally, or when the delegation is prohibited under state law or by the facility's own policies.
