Section 44:75:13:15 - Doors
Any door to a patient room toilet or bathroom shall be equipped with hardware that permits access in any emergency. A pocket or sliding door may not be installed except on a clothes closet or restroom in a patient room. Any hardware on a restroom pocket or sliding door shall provide for ease of operation for a patient with limited mobility. Any door opening onto a corridor, except an elevator door, shall be hinged on the side. An alcove or similar space which generally does not require doors are excluded from this requirement. No door may swing into the corridor except a closet door. Thresholds and expansion joint covers, if used, shall be flush with the floor. Any cross-corridor door shall be provided with vision panels.
