Spaces occupied by people, machinery, and equipment within buildings and their approaches and parking lots shall have artificial lighting at a level for general safety. Patient bedrooms shall have general lighting and night lighting. A reading light shall be provided for each patient who can benefit from one. Required exits shall be equipped with continuous emergency lighting. Emergency power shall be provided if the main source of power fails.
