Any facility licensed as a rural emergency hospital shall provide emergency department services, observation care, outpatient medical care, and other health care services with a patient length of stay of less than twenty-four hours. A rural emergency hospital may not provide inpatient services, except those furnished in a unit that is a distinct part of the rural emergency hospital and is licensed as a skilled nursing facility to furnish posthospital extended care services.
