Except for the auction license, an application for license may be made by any resident who has not been previously issued a bighorn sheep license in this state. Landowner-operator preference does not apply to the bighorn sheep hunting season. Persons who are eligible for a bighorn sheep license may apply for both a bighorn sheep license and a Custer State Park bighorn sheep license. Applicants who successfully draw more than one bighorn sheep license are subject to the provisions as set forth in § 41:06:01:03. The license designated by the commission as an auction license as set in the provisions of § 41:06:56:03 is available to residents and nonresidents.
