A birth to age 21 school psychologist education program shall require a specialist-level degree in school psychology.

The required courses and experiences of a birth to age 21 school psychologist education program shall meet the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) standards, 2020 edition and shall include a minimum of 60 graduate semester hours and a 1200-hour internship experience.

The program shall require candidates to demonstrate the applicable content, pedagogical, and professional knowledge and skills identified in the NASP standards and to demonstrate competency on the applicable multiple assessment measures of chapters 24:53:04, 24:53:05, and 24:53:06.

State certification may be issued with documentation of current national certification by the National Association of School Psychologists.
