Section 24:28:16:02 - Eligibility for reciprocity based on completion of alternative certification

The secretary may issue an educator certificate to the applicant for reciprocal certification who completed an alternative certification program in another U.S. state or territory and submits:

(1) Documentation, completed by the superintendent, principal, agency director, or designated personnel officer of the school district of another U.S. state or territory where the applicant is currently or was previously employed, showing that the applicant has at least three years of experience in the applicant's certification area within the previous five school years;

(2) Documentation of a valid educator's license from the issuing state or territory; and

(3) Verification from the licensing state that there are no past or pending disciplinary actions against the applicant for actual or alleged ethics violations.
