Section 24:28:09:23 - Effective date of drivers education permit eligibility requirements

Effective July 1, 2019, a drivers education instructor shall meet the following eligibility requirements in addition to those in § 24:28:09:22:

(1) Be at least 21 years of age;

(2) Possess a valid Class-1 South Dakota drivers license or equivalent drivers license from another state;

(3) Complete a minimum of a high school diploma or its equivalent;

(4) Have no traffic-related drivers license court suspensions or revocations within the preceding 36 months;

(5) Have no convictions for traffic violations that carry a mandatory suspension or revocation of the drivers license within the preceding 36 months;

(6) Have no convictions for traffic violations causing a fatal traffic collision; and

(7) Have no convictions for driving with a revoked or suspended license or driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance within the past five years.
