Section 20:86:02:12 - Judicial declaration of incompetence or involuntary commitment

If a person licensed or certified by this board has been judicially declared incompetent or involuntarily committed to a mental hospital or treatment center, the board of certified professional midwives, upon proof of that fact, shall enter an order either placing the person on inactive status or suspending the person from the practice of professional midwifery for an indefinite period until further order of the board. A copy of the order shall be served upon the person, the person's guardian, and the director of the mental hospital by certified mail, with return receipt requested.
