Chapter 20:18:18.01 - Slot machine manufacturers
Section 20:18:18.01:06 - Final assembly and initial operation - Request for change

The manufacturer is responsible for the final assembly and initial operation of a slot machine and equipment manufactured in this state and approved by the commission. Before changing the manner of final assembly or initial operation of a slot machine, the slot machine manufacturer must obtain approval from the commission or executive secretary. The request for prior approval must be in writing and must set forth the reason for the change. A print, schematic, block diagram, or machine analysis, as applicable, which contains details of the proposed change must accompany the request.

If a change is necessary to prevent cheating or malfunction, the manufacturer may verbally request emergency approval of the change and the commission or executive secretary may grant verbal approval. An emergency request must provide the same information as required for a written request. A verbal request for emergency approval of a change must be followed by a written request for approval.

A slot machine manufactured in this state and used in connection with gaming must clearly represent its rules of play and payoff schedule to the playing public. Each slot machine must, at all times, operate and play in accordance with the representation made to the commission and to the public.
