The date on which an inmate is sentenced is the sentence commence date unless the judgment of conviction specifies a different commence date or the convicted person has been released from custody pending actual arrival at a department facility, in which case the date the person is received at the facility is the commence date. Court-ordered jail time credit is subtracted from the sentence commence date.
