Certification required for an applicators license shall be maintained by taking a written examination with a score of at least 70 percent, every two years following the initial certification. Certification requirements must be met before a license can be issued.

In lieu of a renewal examination, attendance at a certification course held under the direction of the department shall qualify the licensed applicator for maintenance of certification.
