Monthly samples of raw milk for processing shall be taken from each producer and monthly samples of raw milk for processing shall be taken from each milk plant after receipt of the milk by the milk plant and before processing. In addition, during any consecutive six months, at least four samples of processed milk and at least four samples of each milk product shall be taken from every milk plant. Samples of milk and milk products shall be taken while they are in possession of the producer, processor, or distributor at any time before final delivery. Samples of milk and milk products from dairy retail stores, food service establishments, grocery stores, and other places where milk products are sold shall be examined as determined by the secretary. The results of such examinations shall be used to determine compliance with the PMO and this chapter. Proprietors of such establishments shall furnish the secretary, on request, with the names of all the distributors from whom the milk or milk products are obtained.
