A. Written policies and procedures shall be developed to enhance safety within the facility and on its grounds and to minimize hazards to patients, staff and visitors.
B. The policies and procedures shall include, but not be limited to:
1. Safety rules and practices pertaining to
personnel, equipment, gases, liquids, drugs, supplies and services;
2. Provisions for reporting and investigating
accidental events regarding patients, visitors and personnel and corrective
action taken;
3. Provisions for
disseminating safety-related information to employees and users of the
facility;
4. Provision for syringe
and needle handling and storage.
5.
Provisions for managing infectious waste from generation to disposal according
to Regulation Regulation
61-105.
