Section 61-108.1400.1402 - Vaccinations (I)

A. Hepatitis B.
1. All direct care staff who perform tasks
involving contact with blood, blood-contaminated body fluids, other body
fluids, or sharps shall have the hepatitis B vaccination series unless the
vaccine is contraindicated or an individual is offered the series and declines.
In either case the decision shall be documented.
2. Each staff member who elects vaccination
shall have completed the initial dose of the three-dose series within 30 days
of employment.
B. Influenza. All direct care staff shall have an annual influenza vaccination unless contraindicated or offered and declined. In either case the decision shall be documented.
C. MMR and Varicella. All direct care staff shall have been vaccinated or have evidence of immunity for measles, rubella, and varicella prior to patient contact unless contraindicated or offered and declined. In either case the decision shall be documented. Immunity to mumps is recommended.
