Section 280-RICR-30-15-4.14 - Mirror

A. Every cycle shall be equipped with a rear view mirror which is located on the left side of the vehicle so as to reflect to the driver a view of the highway for a distance of two hundred feet (200') to the rear of such vehicle. Check the mirror to see that it is securely attached and that the mirror glass is not cracked, broken fogged or missing.

B. Every mirror shall consist of a minimum reflective surface of ten (10) square inches and shall be circular, oval, rectangular or square in shape and shall not contain any sharp edges, projections or irregular indents.

C. Cause for rejection:

1. There is no mirror;

2. The mirror is cracked, broken, fogged or loose;

3. The mirror is located so that the operator cannot see to two hundred feet (200') to the rear;

4. The mirror is not properly shaped; or

5. The mirror is not securely attached.
