1.1.1 Authority

These Regulations are amended pursuant to the authority of R.I. Gen. Laws Chapters 21-27 and 23-1 and are developed for establishing minimum standards for food safety and sanitation in food businesses and food establishments.

1.1.2 Scope

These Regulations establish definitions; sets standards for management and personnel, food operations and equipment and facilities; and provides food establishment plan review, plan issuance, inspection, employee restriction and permit suspension. It applies to retail food operations within food establishments licensed by the Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH) but does not apply to activities regulated by Part 4 and Part 6 of this Subchapter.
