Section 200-RICR-20-30-3.17 - Monitoring Student Performance

A. The performance of all exited students shall be monitored for a minimum of two years to determine whether they are succeeding in the LEA's general-education program. The LEA shall continuously evaluate and document a student's progress, through review of the student's most recent report cards, parental feedback, teacher evaluations, and the student's recorded performance level on state and local assessments. Monitored students shall be appropriately identified during the state assessment process.

B. When an exited student fails to progress in her or his current general-education placement, the LEA shall implement appropriate procedures or assessments in order to determine whether additional interventions or other supports are needed, including the provision of further ELL instruction.
