Chapter 205 - RULES OF STANDARDBRED RACING-TEMPORARY REGULATIONS
TYPES OF RACES OFFERED
Section 205.222 - Types of races to be offered

The racing secretary shall exclusively use the following types of races:
(1) Stakes and futurities.
(2) Early closing and late closing events.
(3) Conditioned races. These qualifications may be based upon, among other things:
(i) Horse's money winnings
in a specified number of previous races or during a specified previous
time.
(ii) A horse's finishing
position in a specified number of previous races or during a specified period
of time.
(iii) Age.
(iv) Sex.
(v) Number of starts during a specified
period of time.
(vi) Or any one or
more combinations of the qualifications herein listed.
(4) Claiming races.
(5) Open races or invitational races.
