Current-carrying parts need not be guarded if they are maintained at the following distances above the floors which may be occupied by persons:

| 750-2,500 | 7 |
| 2,500-7,500 | 8 |
| 7,500-30,000 | 9 |
| 30,000-70,000 | 10 |
| 70,000-100,000 | 12 |
| Over 100,000 | 14 |
