The following species are commonly associated with others of the same genus under the American Lumber Standards nomenclature but no strength tests have been made on them at Forest Products Laboratory:
Birch | Nigra. |
Hickory | Ovalisi. |
Red oak | Quercus borealis maxima, shumardii, texana, palustris, rubra pagodaefolia, ellipsoidalis, coccinea, marilandica, kelloggii, and catesbaei. |
White oak | Lyrata, muehlenbergii, garryana, lobata, virginana, douglasii, utahensis, emozyi, arizonica, and oblongifolia. |
Pecan | Cordi formis elongata, myristicaeformis, and aquatica. |
Red alder | Rhombifolia. |
Hackberry | Laevigata. |
Basswood | Heterophylla. |
Buckeye | Glabra. |
Chestnut | Pumila. |
Cottonwood | Deltoides virginiana, heterophylla, and sargentii. Populus trichocarpa, macdougalii, and fremontii. |
White ash | Pennsylvanica. |
