Rule 608 - Bonds of Magisterial District Judges

(a) Each magisterial district judge is required to give bond in such sum, not less than $25,000, as shall be directed by the president judge of the court of common pleas of the judicial district in which is located the magisterial district of the magisterial district judge, with one or more sufficient sureties.
(b) The bond shall be:
(1) lodged with the prothonotary of the court
of common pleas;
(2) conditioned on
the faithful application of all moneys that come into the hands of the
magisterial district judge as an officer; and
(3) for the benefit of the Commonwealth and
its political subdivisions, and all persons who may sustain injury from the
magisterial district judge in the judge's official
capacity.
