AN ACT

Amending Title 18 (Crimes and Offenses) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, changing definitions relating to offenses involving danger to the person.

The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania hereby enacts as follows:

Section 1. The definitions of "bodily injury" and "serious bodily injury" in section 2301 of Title 18 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes are amended to read:

§ 2301. Definitions.

The following words and phrases when used in this chapter shall have the meanings given to them in this section unless the context clearly indicates otherwise:

"Bodily injury." Impairment of physical or mental condition or substantial pain.

"Serious bodily injury." Bodily injury which creates [a substantial] any risk of death or which causes serious, permanent disfigurement, or protracted loss or impairment of the function of any bodily member or organ.
