Section 740-045-0020 - Oregon Commercial or Apportioned Vehicle Registration Plates, Placement

(1) For the purpose of this rule, "front of the vehicle" means the front bumper, grill, headerboard or other front-end cab protection structure, the location of which allows a person facing the front of the vehicle to easily view the identification plate.
(2) Commercial or apportioned vehicle registration plates must be displayed as follows:
(a) Tractors and truck-tractors
display plate on the front of the vehicle;
(b) Buses and trucks display one plate on the
front of the vehicle and one plate on the rear of the vehicle; and
(c) In addition to the prohibitions found in
ORS 803.550, plates must be kept
legible, free of dirt and mud and not otherwise covered or hidden so as to be
visible and easily read at all times.
