(1) The following operating principle applies to the Coast Fork Willamette Subbasin: Rainbow trout shall be managed for natural and hatchery production and cutthroat trout shall be managed for natural production of the wild populations.
(2) In accordance with this operating principle, it is the objective of the Department to:
(a) Protect and enhance the productivity of
wild cutthroat trout and rainbow trout populations;
(b) Provide self-sustaining fisheries for
cutthroat trout and rainbow trout in streams not designated for release of
hatchery trout;
(c) Diversify
angling opportunity by releasing legal-sized hatchery rainbow trout in areas
restricted to the Coast Fork Willamette (RM 22-24) and Sharps Creek (RM
0-10).
