(2) Retention of white sturgeon is prohibited in The Dalles Pool (The Dalles Dam upstream to John Day Dam) of the Columbia River and all adjacent tributaries, except as follows:

(a) Effective January 1 through January 29, retention of white sturgeon is allowed on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays.

(b) When open for retention, the white sturgeon legal size slot is from 43 to 54 inches fork length.

(3) Fork length is measured in a straight line from the tip of the nose to the fork in the caudal fin (tail) with the fish laying on its side on a flat surface, with the tape measure or ruler positioned flat under the fish.

(4) When open for retention, the daily bag limit for sturgeon is one per day, and two per year statewide.

(5) All other permanent rules for the Columbia River Zone, as stated in the current annual Oregon Sport Fishing Regulations, remain in effect.
