(1) The goals for public involvement in forest land planning are:
(a) To seek insight, opinions, and data on
planned management actions on state-owned forest lands.
(b) To build understanding, acceptance, and
support for the forest resource management planning processes and
decisions.
(c) To offer information
to the public about forest systems and forest stewardship.
(d) To provide the public with meaningful
opportunities to comment and affect planning decisions at a time when public
involvement can contribute positively to the planning decisions under
consideration.
(2) Opportunities for public involvement shall be appropriate to the planning decision under consideration and shall include one or more of the following: general public access to decisions, a public comment period, a Board meeting, public meeting, public hearing, or focused technical review.
