Section 581-017-0613 - Criteria: FFA Summer Duty Extended Contract Grant

(1) The Department of Education will establish an annual application for the FFA Summer Duty Extended Contract Grant application. The grant application will comply with the requirements of 2019 OL Ch. 588, Sec. 3 (Enrolled HB 2444).

(2) An application submitted by a school district must include the following:

(a) Specific goals and deliverables, including goals and deliverables to provide opportunities to historically underserved students;

(b) Information about the school district's current FFA extended duty contracts;

(c) Assurances that the money received through the FFA Summer Duty Extended Contract Grant will be used to establish or expand programs and opportunities and will not be used to replace current funding provided by the school district for FFA Summer Duty Extended Contracts; and

(d) Signature of school principal, teacher, and advisory committee.

(3) The Department will convene an application review committee consisting of at a minimum representatives of business and industry members of Team AgEd, Oregon Agriculture Teachers Association, and the Oregon FFA Association, and other members that are geographically and demographically representative of Oregon's student body. The review committee will make recommendations to the Oregon Department of Education.

(4) School districts may amend the approved FFA Summer Duty Extended Contract Grant goals and deliverables so long as the amendment is done in consultation with the Oregon Department of Education and the amended goals and deliverables are approved by the Department.
