Section 291-143-0112 - Religious Dietary Accommodations

(1) The department will satisfy the special religious dietary needs of inmates within the context of the Food Services cyclical menu.
(2) Requests for inmate religious dietary needs that cannot be satisfied within the context of the Food Services cyclical menu will be considered.
(a) Inmate requests for special religious
diets must be rooted in religious exercise.
(b) The inmate must sign a religious diet
participation agreement committing to adhere to the diet requested. Violation
of the agreement may result in a re-examination of the inmate's commitment to
the religious tradition in which the diet is observed. An inmate may submit a
request for religious accommodation as outlined in OAR
291-143-0115.
