Contestants may use six inches of medical diachylon tape, one inch in width across the back of each hand before bandaging the hands. Such tape can not be put across the knuckles. Bandages shall be of soft surgical gauze not more than ten yards long and two inches in width, held in place by not more than six feet of one inch medical diachylon tape for each hand. These bandages shall be applied in the dressing room no sooner than 45 minutes before fight time under the examination of an inspector and in the presence of a representative of both contestants. Either contestant may waive the privilege of witnessing the bandaging of the opponent's hands. Hands shall be wrapped dry, and no liquid may be applied to any bandage. If any other material or substance is used on the hands of the boxer other than that mentioned in this paragraph, the boxer and manager shall face disciplinary action by the Superintendent. Only the above-described tape and gauze will be allowed.
