Section 230-030-0000 - Providing a Physician; Emergency Equipment; Emergency Room

(1) The physician member shall certify each year a list of ringside and examining physicians and a physician not on such list shall not be employed as a ringside or examining physician unless special permission is first obtained from the physician member. The list of certified physicians shall be available at the Director's office.

(2) It shall be the responsibility of the promoter to compensate the ringside physician or physicians appointed by the Director. The physician must have all necessary emergency equipment in satisfactory condition at ringside before any contest shall commence, including:

(a) Small oxygen tank with mask;

(b) Sterile gauze pads for the use of the ringside physician;

(c) Oral airway;

(d) Stretcher;

(e) Telephone.

(3) The club shall be responsible for the furnishing of the above equipment and its continued maintenance.

(4) All promoters shall set aside a room or area at the card venue for the emergency evaluation of injuries. The room or area shall be kept comfortably warm, and shall contain, among other things, the following articles:

(a) One set of blankets;

(b) One cot;

(c) Bandages;

(d) Surgeon's tape;

(e) Splints;

(f) Pair of scissors.
