(a) All birds released or taken during any authorized retriever field trial, except pigeons, must bear a leg band issued by the Department for such purpose. Organizations shall remunerate the Department for these bands on an approximate cost basis. Approval will be given the sponsoring organization for purchase of said leg bands upon approval of their retriever field trial application. Bands must be utilized in banding the same species of bird as indicated on the application.

(b) Leg bands must remain affixed to the birds taken legally during a retriever field trial until final disposition has been accomplished.
