Chapter 28 of the IRC® 2018 is adopted with the following modification: Section P2802.3 Solar water heater panels means of disconnect, has been added to specify when solar water heater panels are installed on a roof, a union will be installed on all piping entering and exiting the solar panel to allow for a mechanical means of disconnect for service or replacement of the roof. This section has been added to read: P2802.3 Solar Water heater panels means of disconnect. When solar water heater panels are installed on the roof, a union shall be installed on all piping entering and exiting the solar panel to allow a mechanical means of disconnect for service or replacement of the roof.
