Section 623:10-1-1 - Purpose

(a) Purpose. The Oklahoma Route 66 Commission is a nine-member commission appointed by the Governor, Oklahoma House, and Oklahoma Senate, whose purpose is to promote both the historical features of and future development of Route 66 across Oklahoma. It will accomplish this through the administration of an annual grant process, disbursing funds as set forth below. The Commission will meet quarterly to review and approve grant applications and conduct any necessary business to further the Commission's work. The Commission will also work with the Oklahoma Route 66 Centennial Commission to coordinate funding of projects that will celebrate the centennial of Route 66 in 2026. This Commission is hereby created until June 30, 2027.

(b) Funding. $6.6 Million available for distribution each year for four years: 7/1/2023, 7/1/2024, 7/1/2025, 7/1/2026.
