Title 10A O.S., Sections 2-7-601(A) and 2-5-212, give OJAauthority to place a juvenile or youthful offender on parole whenever OJA determines that such release shallnot be detrimental to society and that the juvenile or youthful offender is ready to be returned to the community or has reasonably completed a plan of rehabilitation. The Office of Juvenile Affairs may, pursuant to the same provisions of law, release a juvenile or youthful offender from an institution for placement in a group home, transitional living program, independent living program or other community-based step-down or reentry program.
