Section 375:25-1-2 - Definitions

In addition to definitions found in Title 21, O.S. Sections 1290.2, the following words, when used in this Chapter, shall have the following definitions, unless the context clearly dictates otherwise.

"Applicant" means a person who is making application for a handgun license

"Bureau" means the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation.

"Director" means the director of the OSBI.

"General Counsel" means the General Counsel of the OSBI, or attorney designated by the General Counsel.

"OSBI" means the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation.

"Petitioner" means, in the case of a hearing to suspend or revoke a handgun license, the OSBI; or, in the case of an appeal of the denial of a handgun license or other adverse action, the applicant for such license.

"Respondent" means, in the case of a hearing to suspend or revoke a handgun license, the holder of such license; or, in the case of an appeal of the denial of a handgun license, the OSBI.

"Sheriff" means an elected sheriff of the Oklahoma county of the applicant's residence or the sheriff's designated employee representative.
