Section 340:105-10-17 - Advocacy

(a) Policy. The State Agency on Aging serves as a visible and effective advocate for older Oklahomans.
(b) Authority. The authority for this Section is Section 1321.13 of Title 45 of the Code of Federal Regulations; and Section 305(1)(D) of the Older Americans Act of 1965, as amended.
(c) Procedures. The State Agency on Aging serves as a visible and effective advocate for older Oklahomans by:
(1) reviewing, monitoring, evaluating, and
commenting on federal, state and local plans, budgets, regulations, programs,
laws, levies, hearings, policies, and actions that affect or may affect older
persons and recommending any changes the State Agency considers
appropriate;
(2) providing
technical assistance to agencies, organizations, associations, or individuals
representing older persons; and
(3)
reviewing and commenting, upon request, on applications to state and federal
agencies for assistance relating to meeting the needs of older
persons.
