(a) Barbering may be performed in a place other than a duly authorized barber shop, provided that the intent of the sanitary requirements under the rules are fulfilled.

(b) A home shop shall provide a separate outside entrance directly into the shop. No room or part of a building occupied by a barber shop, school or college shall be used for sleeping purposes. Living quarters shall be separated from a barber shop or school by a solid and self-closing door. All establishments shall be maintained in an insect, rodent, and animal free condition. Animals used to aid sensory perceptions, such as seeing eye dogs and primates for helping hands are exempt.
