Section 160:20-1-2 - Rule announcing changes in dollar amounts - July 1, 1979

(a) The percentage of change, calculated according to the nearest whole percentage point, between the Index at the end of 1978 and the Reference Base Index is ten percent (10%) or more so various dollar amounts set forth in the Uniform Consumer Credit Code shall change using figures from Consumer Price Index Indicators, Consumer Price Index for Urban Wage Earners and Clerical Workers (CPI-W). [14A:1-106(1), (2) and (3)]

(b) The designated sections and the corresponding dollar amounts to become effective on July 1, 1979, are as follows:

1 This reference to §2-104(2)(e) was misdirected. The proper section to which the Legislature intended to affect was §2-104(1)(e). Testimony at the hearing indicated that the mistake was a scrivener's error. It would appear that the dollar limit as to sales of $25,000 was not changed by Senate Bill 231 and House Bill 1156. However, it is noted by the Administrator that the legislative intent in said acts was to raise the dollar amount in sales under the Uniform Consumer Credit Code to $35,000.
