Section 150:55-7-3 - Selection criteria

(a) Selection for the Urban Main Street program shall be based on the merit of the project and the goals of the Oklahoma Department of Commerce for the project. Criteria to determine project merit shall be based on capacity to respond and the need for services and shall include:

(1) Size and manageability of project area;

(2) Evidence of local public and private sector financial support of the project;

(3) Evidence of strong commitment from public and private sector;

(4) Evidence of sensitivity to local design of the project area;

(5) Municipal development and planning policies pertinent to project area;

(6) Municipal housing needs pertinent to the project area;

(7) Public relations, image and promotional activities;

(8) Economic health of project area;

(9) Demonstration of impact of cultural and sociological issues;

(10) Need for outside assistance.

(b) Criteria to determine whether the project meets the goals of the Department shall be based on the opportunity to explore any or all of the following urban issues through the local program:

(1) Organizational change in order to address urban issues;

(2) Design;

(3) Promotion of project;

(4) Economic restructuring.
