Section 150:55-3-3 - Selection criteria

Selection for participation in the Small Town Main Street program shall be based on the following criteria:

(1) Evidence of local public and private sector financial support of the Main Street program for a three-year period;

(2) Evidence of strong commitment from the public and private sector in the community as demonstrated by support letters;

(3) A commitment to hire a part-time program director to work in the project as provided in 150:55-3-1;

(4) Capacity for economic growth as a result of the Main Street program as determined by the Advisory Committee;

(5) A clearly defined central business district;

(6) Evidence of need which will be balanced with the ability of the project area to respond to the three-year program of services offered by the Department as determined by the Advisory Committee; and

(7) Sufficient historic or architecturally significant buildings in the project areas which help establish a unified design image. Sufficient shall be defined as fifty percent (50%) or greater.
