I, J. Kevin Stitt, Governor of the State of Oklahoma, hereby direct the appropriate steps b e taken to fly all American and Oklahoma flags on State property at half-staff from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Monday, June 10, 2019, to honor former state lawmaker Jonathan Edgar Nichols, who died Wednesday, June 5, 2019.

Mr. Nichols represented Oklahoma State Senate District 15, which included Cleveland, Garvin, and McClain counties. He was a concerned and diligent legislator who worked tirelessly on issues related to higher education. Former Senator Nichols is survived by his wife, Talitha Joy, and their two daughters, Jessica and Rachel.

This executive order shall be forwarded to the Division of Capital Assets Management, who shall cause the provisions of this order to be implemented by all appropriate agencies of state government.
