I, Mary Fallin, Governor of the State of Oklahoma, hereby direct that appropriate steps be taken to fly all American and Oklahoma flags on State property at half-staff from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Friday, January 19, 2018, to honor former Oklahoma House of Representatives and Senate Minority Leader Denzil "Denny" Garrison.

Denny Garrison served in the Oklahoma Legislature for 16 years and ascended to the position of Minority Leader in both chambers. He served in the House from 1957 to 1960 and then ran for the Senate, serving in that chamber until 1974. Garrison was 91. A longtime attorney in Bartlesville, he also served two terms as President of the Oklahoma Historical Society. His service to our nation and our state is to be admired. He served in both World War II and the Korean War, and he served our state with honor for more than two decades, both as legislator and curator of our state's history. His dedication to the betterment of the State of Oklahoma will never be forgotten.

This Executive Order shall be forwarded to the Department of Capital Assets Management, who shall cause the provisions of this Order to be implemented by all appropriate agencies of State government.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Great Seal of the State of Oklahoma to be affixed at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, this 18th day of January, 2018.
