Pursuant to the authority vested in the Governor by 74 Okla. Stat. §840.3(1) (1989 Supp.), it is hereby ordered that, except for the positions listed below, the Department of Labor be placed under the Oklahoma Merit System of Personnel Administration as prescribed by the Oklahoma Personnel Act, 74 Okla. Stat. §840.1 et seq. (1989 Supp.), and the rules promulgated thereunder.

The positions of Commissioner of Labor, the Commissioner's executive secretary, chief of staff, deputy commissioner and administrative assistant--legal in the Department of Labor shall not be placed under the Merit System of Personnel Administration.

Copies of this executive order shall be distributed to the Secretary of State, Commissioner of Labor, and Director of the Office of Personnel Management.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Great Seal of the State of Oklahoma to be affixed at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, this 12th day of March, 1990.
