Chapter 4758-5 - Licensure and Certification Requirements
Section 4758-5-04 - Requirements for licensure of chemical dependency counselors III (LCDC III)
Current through all regulations passed and filed through September 16, 2024
To be licensed as a chemical dependency counselor III (LCDC III) the applicant shall:
(A) Submit a formal application, including:
(B) After approval of the application by the board, receive a passing score on the IC&RC (ADC) or other board approved alcohol and drug counselor examination, or provide documentation of a valid license, certificate, or credentials issued under another chapter of the Revised Code that authorizes the individual to engage in a profession whose scope of practice includes substance use disorder counseling and diagnosing and treating substance use disorder conditions.
(C) Provide official transcript from an accredited school or university that verifies a bachelor's degree or higher degree in a behavioral science or nursing.
(D) Complete the hours of work, which includes a minimum of twenty percent of those hours in the clinical core functions of substance use disorder treatment services;
(E) The core functions and minimum hours as follows:

(H) The board shall have sole discretion to determine if documentation submitted is suitable.
